Future Hits: P!nk Is Gonna “Try” For Another Top 5 Hit

By Kevin Tustin • 1 day ago

P!nk
.
This week’s batch of future hits features a double appearance by Ne-Yo and repeat acts including Rihanna and David Guetta. It’s not that there isn’t anything better to write about, but these acts are surefire hit makers. But watch out for P!nk, whose latest single, Blow Me (One Last Kiss), just hit the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and she’s sure to have another hit with her new song, Try.

P!nk
.

Reeling in success from her new album “The Truth About Love,” which is set to top the Billboard 200 next week, P!nk’s newest single from the set has already peaked in the top ten on the iTunes store. Try is a mid-tempo motivational song that is heavy on lyrical repetition — the last 40 seconds is the same lyrics over and over again — but a good follow-up to the more angry Blow Me. The single album art looks like Kylie Minogue’s cover for her album “X,” doesn’t it?

Ne-Yo
.

Featured on a few hits within the past two years, Ne-Yo’s second single from his upcoming album R.E.D., Let Me Love You, could be his first successful solo single since Mad or Miss Independent. A great beat and run-of-the-mill love lyrics could elevate this track to the top, but could he face competition with his collaboration on David Guetta’s latest track?

David Guetta’s re-release “Nothing But the Beat 2.0″ features the new song Play Hard.

David Guetta has been having his best year yet. Following collaborations with Sia on Titanium and She Wolf (Falling to Pieces), his unofficially released track, Play Hard, is hitting the overseas charts right after She Wolf was released. No shortage of dancing here as Guetta teams up with Ne-Yo and Akon once more for that smooth r&b vibe on this inevitable club hit which samples Alice Deejay’s Better Off Alone. Those who remember that late-90’s hit will really appreciate the throwback vibe on the track

Rihanna
Rihanna, Diamonds.
Less than a week after winning the VMA for We Found Love and the release of her single Cockiness (Love It), Rihanna is set to release her new single Diamonds this week from her upcoming seventh studio album. Although the track hasn’t been released yet, it features a collaboration with latest Guetta muse Sia, who has reportedly penned the track. Could this lead-off single be a runaway hit like We Found Love? We’ll have to wait and see.
.
Come back next week when we’ll take a look at what’s bubbling under the surface.
