What happens when you crowd 150 journalists and a bunch of fans on a 777 jet and don’t deliver on their expectations? Mutiny, that’s what. It started with a few chants of “b-roll” by some of the videographers as a joke, escalated as one of the Australian radio journalists streaked fully naked through the plane and cultivated with the entire economy section shouting “just one quote” and “save our jobs” during the flight to London.
If you think this would make Rihanna finally appear, you’re wrong. She is on the plane, but despite the cries and pushing throngs of writers, photographers and videographers, the captain of the ship never revealed herself. Her security team did, however, as did her label reps and management. Everyone was eventually told to return to their seats, but no one has calmed down. A flight attendant poured anyone who wanted it shots of Jay-Z’s cognac brand D’ussd — the same stuff Rihanna offered the fans on her first day on the jet. Some journalists got the flight attendant to hand them full bottles of wine to take to their seats and Tim, the Australian streaker, is now the second most famous person on this plane.

So what now? Will Rihanna ever appear? Is she too afraid of what we will do? Does she feel like she owes us something? Stay tuned, I suppose. If we go down, at least we went down swinging.
