Drake and Rihanna Lead 2012 MTV Video Music Award Nominations

The VMA nominations have been announced and it looks as if Rihanna and Drake could come up big this year at the awards show.

That’s right both Rihanna and Drake lead the pack with five nominees each, including Video Of The Year. Additionally both pop stars will be competing against Chris Brown in different categories. Rihanna will go up against Brown in the Best Choreography Category while Drake will go up against Rihanna’s other ex in Best Male Video.

Other big nominees include Katy Perry (four nominations) while Watch The Throne, Beyonce, Coldplay, M.I.A. and Frank Ocean were all nominated for three awards. The biggest upset is the fact that Lady Gaga wasn’t nominated for anything despite the fact that “Marry The Night” and “You And I” both could have been included.
